Benjamin Herold
Benjamin Herold is a journalist and author who explores America’s beautiful and busted public education system.
His first book, DISILLUSIONED: FIVE FAMILIES AND THE UNRAVELING OF AMERICA’S SUBURBS (Penguin Press, 2024), was hailed as “Honest, nuanced, and searing” by former U.S. Education Secretary John B. King, Jr. Herold’s award-winning beat reporting, feature writing, and investigative exposés have appeared in Education Week, PBS NewsHour, NPR, the Hechinger Report, Huffington Post, the Public School Notebook, and WHYY-Philadelphia.
