Debbie Veney

Debbie Veney is senior vice president of communications and marketing at the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, a policy and advocacy nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. She leads a team of communications and marketing professionals and is responsible for managing the organization’s public reputation and shaping national communications strategy for the charter school sector. Debbie brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications, advocacy and media relations, as well as a deep passion for equity in education and belief in the transformative power of high-quality education. Previously, Debbie managed the government affairs and communications function at NewSchools Venture Fund and The Education Trust and held senior communications positions at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Communities In Schools. Debbie previously served on EWA’s Community Member Advisory Board.
