Diving Into Data Workshop 2024

Data is a key ingredient to education reporting, from tracking chronically absent students to monitoring college lending practices. Ready to take your data skills and savvy to a new level? 

Apply now for EWA’s Diving Into Data Workshop. Participants will receive intensive, hands-on training from data coaches – veteran journalists adept at analyzing and reporting with education data. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced, the coaches will meet you where you are. Each participating journalist must come with a specific reporting project in mind and a data set. The workshop offers tracks for Excel at various levels as well as R.  

The workshop will run from late afternoon on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024 to 1 p.m. Eastern on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024. EWA member journalists can attend for free. Additionally, EWA covers most of the travel and three hotel nights. (If you’re not an EWA member, apply today.)
