EWA follows Fellows for 2010 Research and Statistics Boot Camp
Washington, D.C., January 11, 2010 — The National Education Writers Association (EWA) selected 20 journalists from newsrooms around the country to attend its sixth annual research and statistics training program.
EWA’s program, held in conjunction with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University and funded by the Spencer Foundation, helped education reporters learn how to analyze data and question research. Respected news veterans and college professors guided fellows on the strengths and weaknesses of data-based reporting and how to gauge good research from bad. Fellows left the boot camp with the beginnings of a story. Read stories written by fellows below.
